China's mergers and acquisitions market recorded 131 disclosed transactions valued at a combined ¥26.76 billion in July, 2012, ChinaVenture said. The number of transactions was down 38% month on month and down 39% year on year; while the amount of money involved was down 56% month on month and down 71% year on year.

Of the mergers and acquisitions completed in July, manufacturing turned out to be the most active industry by both in terms of the number of transactions and investment size, reporting 22 transactions valued at ¥10.9 billion. The usually hectic mining and energy industry recorded just ¥1.3 billion worth of mergers and acquisitions, ranking fourth.
