July 23 – As many as 80% of polysilicon producers in China have suspended production after the nation's polysilicon imports rose at much lower prices, according to GT Solar Inc, a Merrimack, New Hampshire-based polysilicon producer. Between January and May, China imported 12.1% more polysilicon from South Korea at a 62.3% cheaper price and imported 94.5% more from the US at a 67.1% cheaper price.
