February 29 – L'Oreal said its revenue from China has cracked the ¥10 billion mark, reaching ¥10.7 billion in 2011 after 11 years of growing at double-digit rates, including 18% in 2011.

February 29 – Turnover at China's deal-of-the-day websites surged 255% year on year to ¥1.35 billion in January, according to Tuan800.com, a site that collects information about group buy deals.

February 29 – Metro AG said it opened its 54th Chinese store and plans to open at least 10 stores in China this year. The German retailer opened five stores in the country in 2011.

February 28 – American Dairy Queen Corp said it plans to open 100 stores in China in 2012, down from 131 openings in the previous year. It was operating over 500 stores in the country as of the end of 2011.

February 27 – Better Life Commercial Chain Co (SHE: 002251), a Chinese supermarket chain, said it plans to open 80 stores in the next three years. It was operating 19 stores as of the end of 2011.

February 27 – Parkson Retail Group Ltd (HKG: 3368), a Chinese department store operator, said it opened six stores last year and plans to open eight this year.

February 22 – British retailer Tesco opened its 108th Chinese store in Tongxiang, Zhejiang province.
