July 31 – Jilin Yatai Group Co (SHA: 600881), a cement maker as well as property developer, said it paid ¥74.56 million for a 3.59% stake in Lanhai Quanzhou Water Town (Tianjin) Development Co, increasing its holdings in the company to 6.94%. Lanhai Quanzhou Water Town, a sporting resort, posted ¥39.1 million in losses for the first five months of 2012.

July 31 – Youngman Automobile Group Co, a privately owned Chinese bus and car maker based in Zhejiang province, plans to take a 74.9% stake in Germany's Viseon Bus GmbH for $12.24 million, Reuters reported, citing a local Chinese government website. Youngman will also invest an additional $9.8 million in the German company, including a $6.1 million loan. The deal has yet to be approved by China's National Development and Reform Commission. Founded in 2008, Pilsting, Bavaria-based Viseon Bus also makes trolley buses and coaches.

July 27 – Sichuan Changhong Electric Co (SHA: 600839), a leading Chinese home appliance maker, said it plans to purchase 20% of Mianyang, Sichuan province-based Guohong Digital Telecommunication Co for ¥175.19 million. The target company posted ¥1.39 billion in revenues and ¥55.08 million in net profits last year.

July 26 – Wanda Group, one of China's largest theater owners, won approval from both Chinese and US regulatory approvals to take over AMC Entertainment, which owns the second largest movie theater chain in North America, for $2.6 billion, including debts. Wanda also promised to inject an extra $500 million for AMC's future operations.
