China's IT sector attracted US$112 million in venture capital funding in October, up 363.7% on September, the Shanghai Securities News reported, citing ChinaVenture’s monthly report. China Micro Semicon Co received US$58 million from Shanghai Venture Capital and Walden International. The largest venture capital deal last month was a US$103 million investment in Ambow Education, a leading provider of personalized education and training services in China. It is the largest ever VC deal in China's education sector. ChinaVenture predicts the education and healthcare sectors will be most appealing to venture capital firms over the coming months as the global financial crisis continues to dent other sensitive industries.
