The value of online deals in Eastern China’s Zhejiang province totaled US$11.12 billion (RMB79.62 billion) last year, the China Securities Journal reported. The province had 163 websites dealing in online transactions, which together attracted 36,895 users as at the end of 2007. Yuyao Plastics City, China’s largest market for plastics-related products, registered US$5.79 billion (RMB41.5 billion) worth of online deals and the two online platforms for Zhenhai liquefied chemical products saw US$1.40 billion (RMB10.06 billion) worth of online deals last year. The aggregate amount of commodity trading in Zhejiang province added up to US$130.20 billion (RMB932.52 billion) last year, up 13.1% on the previous year.
