Hohhot, known as Huhehaote in Chinese, is the capital and second largest city in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in northern China. With a population of 2.9 million, the city's GDP grew 13.5% to ¥185 billion ($29.4 billion) in 2010. Hohhot is where China's two largest dairy producers, Mengniu and Yili, are based. The city's service sector has become its economic pillar, and it is a leading financial center in Inner Mongolia.
