Nanning is the capital and largest city in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southwestern China. With a population of 6.7 million, the city's GDP grew 14.2% to ¥180 billion ($28.6 billion) in 2010. Nanning is rich in precious and base metals including gold, silver, manganese, aluminum and iron. It also has deposits of coal, marble and granite.
